Carrying The Torch

Photography

Photography began for me as a hobby, but has become an important part of how I work and move through the world.

I started taking photos in the spring of 2024 as a way of getting closer to my Grandpa, who I have always looked upto as the artist of our family. I began learning from him on his original Nikon F from the 1960s, pulled from a collection of film cameras he has carefully held onto over the years.

Although I mostly shoot digitally now, the work still feels rooted in where I began. I bring my camera wherever I go, and it has become a constant companion.

It pulls me out into the world, lets me create without feeling stuck at a desk, and gives me a reason to get up, go, and connect with people and places I wouldn’t have otherwise.

Ahhhh I need to actually add photos.
